Taproot Farm needed a website that provided users with a lot of information and options without overwhelming them.
Taproot Farm provides fresh vegetables and other food items to their community via multiple fulfillment methods, including CSA share drop-offs and farmers market stands.
They needed a website that could provide seasonal information for every type of consumer. Since their crops change with the seasons, it was essential that they be able to update the website content easily.
In order to achieve the client’s goals, we first identified the distinct types of users who would be using the website. We also set up advanced tracking on the prior website to get an idea of which components of the website were already useful and which weren’t.
With our redesign process, we started with a well-documented and supported WordPress template. After reworking the old website sitemap, which had too many pages, we organized the new site into appropriate categories for each type of users, while thoughtfully integrating calls to action that made sense contextually. We also integrated a descriptive mega menu to help the varied user types find what they need no matter where they are on the website.
